Feeding Children: Eurocentrism and the Homogenization of our Diets

Food programs, policies and marketing often target children. Whether they are portrayed as the most vulnerable members of our society or the most influenceable of consumers, the process of feeding children is often linked to a logic of profit and can be informed by an ethnocentric bias. Through the example of milk, Nassim will speak about the programs and social dynamics by which Western dietary norms are spread, redefining “normal” in many cultures.
