Veganic Farming: Growing the Movement for Climate-Friendly Agriculture

Seed the Commons will present a veganic panel at Soil Not Oil, a grassroots environmental conference that explores alternatives to industrial agriculture.

Alisha Utter is a Plant and Soil Science/Agroecology PhD student and veganic farmer. She will speak about developing plant-based agroecological practices.

Mona Seymour is an Associate Professor of Urban and Environmental Studies at Loyola Marymount University. She will give an overview of the state of veganic farming in the US and will speak of some of the challenges that farmers are facing.

Nassim Nobari is the Executive Director of Seed the Commons and founder of the People’s Harvest Forum and the resource center Veganic World. She will speak about the causes and consequences of the predilection for small-scale animal agriculture within the environmental movement.
