Seed the Commons works to build food systems that are just, sustainable, and free from animal exploitation. Our focus areas reflect the core of our mission: dismantling the power of the agroindustrial complex while fostering alternatives rooted in ecology, sovereignty, and liberation.

01
Agroecology
We promote agroecology as a framework for food sovereignty that is rooted in ecological balance, community resilience, and social justice. To be truly liberatory, agroecology must move beyond the use of animals and embrace vegan principles, ensuring farming systems that sustain people without reproducing cycles of exploitation. By centering vegan agroecology, we highlight paths to nourishment that respect all beings and build just, sustainable food systems.
02
Veganic Farming
Veganic farming—growing food without synthetic inputs or animal-derived fertilizers—is central to our vision of an agriculture that is both ecologically sound and ethically consistent. We provide resources, education, and community spaces for farmers, gardeners, and activists to explore and implement veganic practices. Through research and grassroots collaboration, we advance veganic farming as a cornerstone of climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and food justice.

03
Revolution Through Food System Transformation
Food systems sit at the heart of today’s crises—environmental destruction, corporate control, and widespread inequity. Transforming them is not only necessary, it is revolutionary. By challenging agribusiness dominance and advancing alternatives rooted in community, ecology, and solidarity, we work toward a future where food nourishes people rather than profits. Food system transformation is both a strategy and a vision for dismantling structures of oppression and building the world we need.
04
Decolonization and Anti-Imperialism
We understand food as a site of struggle against colonialism and imperialism. From the imposition of monocultures to the global expansion of industrial livestock, food systems have long been tools of domination. Our work seeks to decolonize food by supporting movements that reclaim land, seeds, and foodways, and by opposing corporate and imperialist agendas that undermine sovereignty. We stand with those who resist and reimagine food systems as vehicles for self-determination and justice.

05
Social Norms and Animal Liberation
Lasting change in food systems requires a shift in culture and values. We challenge the normalization of animals as food and instead promote social norms rooted in respect and liberation. Through education, advocacy, and counter-campaigns, we confront the ways corporations entrench exploitative practices and narratives. By centering animal liberation within struggles for food justice, we envision a society where empathy, solidarity, and ecological care guide how we feed ourselves and each other.
