People’s Harvest Forum
Our vision of healthy, just and sustainable food systems is best achieved when communities reclaim control of food systems – when we achieve food sovereignty. The idea of food sovereignty was developed and popularized by the global peasant movement Via Campesina, it guides our organization of the People’s Harvest Forum and our vision for a better food system.
The annual People’s Harvest Forum is the first event of its kind to work towards food sovereignty within a vegan ethic. At the first annual People’s Harvest Forum in 2015, farmers, food justice and food sovereignty activists, animal rights advocates and others came together to learn from one another about creating a better food system for human and non-human animals alike.
The second People’s Harvest Forum will be held in San Francisco, December 9-12, 2016.
