A couple years ago for Cesar Chavez Day, Seed the Commons developed a vegan tamale workshop that explores social justice along the food chain. Learning about food systems while nomming on delicious healthy tamales turned out to be a winning combo, and we have since been invited to lead this workshop in partnership with various organizations. We're back with a new series of veganic gardening workshops! Matt Loisel, long-time veganic gardener and founder of Lazy Millennial Farms, will teach how to start a garden and grow our own food organically, without using the animal inputs commonly used in organics such as manure, blood or bonemeal. Gardening without synthetic or animal fertilizers is the most resource-efficient, sustainable and compassionate way to go about it and easy to boot. Digital Security for Animal Liberation

Digital security is important for everyone, particularly for people working for the liberation of animals. Join us for a two-hour overview of best practices in securing your digital identity and communications. We will review two-factor authentication to secure your email account, non-corporate service providers, hardware encryption and basic email encryption (Mac and Linux only for the last two items).
